Having the guts

Having guts, grit or being internally driven is a rare thing in this life. It’s what at first feels like a blessing and a curse. We don’t have to wait for the external world to ask us to drive or tell us where to go, we’ve got a map, a plan and have already hit the road before anyone tells us. It has been said that to have the guts to take risks you have to be a little bit crazy.

The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.
— Steve Jobs

Suffering from the drive of our dreams not happening yet is an illusion of the mind. Truth is, our dreams and what we’re driven to do have already occurred out in the field, something out there (or inside us) tells us we’re meant to do something and there’s a reason for that. It’s because it resonates. Einstein said, and I’m paraphrasing, be the frequency you want to attract. In my experience currently, I’ve put out the Sedona Retreat, it was in November 2023 that I got the hit that our next retreat was going to happen in Sedona. I got to stop there and I conversed with the energy of the land, I was given inner guidance that told me, you’ll be here with a group of people doing the work to make this place better.

As I am internally driven, when I landed on my trip, I created the information for the retreat and began to put it out into the world. It takes great deals of patience and trust to put on a retreat. But for me it is such a creative work of art like I’ve never experienced before. It’s an immersive experience in it’s design, I get to plan all the activities, the place to stay, the food, the excursions and the room assignments. It started with nothing but a deep knowingness in meditation and will evolve into a life changing experience for the guests and myself.

I was one told that I have the gift of surrender. I believe this is because I’ve lived a life of trial and error as is my Human Design of being a 3/5 Generator. I have the natural given gifts of optimism and luck, because only a person with a sunny disposition would be able to move past the amount of failure and hope back up to get into the ring again.

I’m starting to see life as an evolution and less of a race with a destination. Those of us with the internal grit, who have a knowingness that we’re made for more must be aware of our comfort zone holding us back. “When you loose your dream, you die,” is a line in the movie Footloose. It’s true. We must believe that our inspiration, pure genius coming in from a higher mind comes to us for a reason. Everything matters so much, in the way you follow your inspiration and guidance. You have the choice, are you going to believe in yourself or stay comfy?

The good news is, we can always start again and ideas will always meet us. Until the day we die opportunity will come knocking, whether it’s a phone call from a friend that turns your day around or a break in a cloudy sky that reveals an inspiring blue. It’s time we notice those nudges and hold our hearts in gratitude for the fact we get to breath, be alive and be supported enough to have the resources to go after what we want. I truly believe nothing we can achieve or overcome anything that comes in our path. We attract what we are a frequency match for, the good and the bad. When your frequency gets higher, at times the level of intensity for difficult situations may be greater. But, like a dance who performs at a hyper speed of flow and physical, we have the ability to catch ourselves because we are lighter (higher in resonance) and we can pick ourselves up faster than if we hadn’t let go of the denser stuff.

That idea motivated me to release as much as I could as quickly as I could. I worked intently on myself and with frequency work for three years to get to a point of lightness that taught me to be resilient and quick to recovery. It’s mental, it’s physical and it’s spiritual, they’re all connected. Like my personal trainer told me last week, it’s the same with the physical body, in the beginning you have to do a lot of reps to build the muscle and eventually your body entrains to the feeling and you only have to do a few to maintain.

Whatever it is you’re here to accomplish or birth, know that as you keep going you are gaining the wealth of what it is to be truly alive. Having the guts to try is what keeps life rich and you’ve already got that.
